Bongo BD to launch seven originals based on books for Eid Ul Fitr

Streaming platform Bongo BD is set to launch their adaptation series, Bongo Based on Books (BOB), on Eid Ul Fitr this year. Their team has partnered up with seven noted authors.

The stories to be adapted include “Opushpok”, “Borka”, and “Chithi” by Shahaduz Zaman Rochonashongroho, “Moronottom” by Sadat Hossain, “Chorer Master Computer Engineer” by Rahitul Islam, “Shomoyer Golpo, 2013” by Shibabrata Barman, “Nova Scotia” by Mahbub Morshed, “Hakulla” by Jobaed Ahsan, and “Laboni” by Maruf Rehman.

The seven originals will be directed by Animesh Aich, Noor Imran Mithu, Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi, Sanjoy Somadder, Golam Haider Kislu, Wahid Tarek, and Vicky Jabed. “My project is based on the story by Shibabrata Barman,” says Animesh Aich. “The initiative is great, and it will enrich the quality of Bangladeshi originals.”

Bongo BD has bought the rights to all the books for the first season. The adaptations will be aired on Ekushey Television, GTV, and Channel Nine, during Eid. The directors have also finalised the actors for their respective productions.

“We have been planning this project for about a year, and now, our vision is coming into life, ” says Vashkar Abedin, Deputy Head of Business Development, Bongo BD. “We hope that the audiences like our work.” The shooting for these adaptations will begin this month, he mentions.
